BigCommerce connection setup

BigCommerce connection setup

This guide walks you through creating a store-level API account in BigCommerce and connecting your store to LinkyFlow so you can load and manage your catalogue, orders, customers and stock in Excel or in the web app.

Requirements

  • A BigCommerce store
  • Access to its control panel, with the right to create API accounts

Step 1 — Create a store-level API account and copy its credentials

  1. In your BigCommerce control panel, go to Settings → API → Store-level API accounts.
  2. Click Create API account and choose the V2/V3 API token type. Give it a name (for example LinkyFlow).
  3. Under OAuth scopes, grant the scopes you want LinkyFlow to use — each is optional, and LinkyFlow uses the ones you give: Products (the catalogue, brands and categories), Orders (orders, their lines, addresses, shipments, coupons, refunds and statuses), Order transactions at read-only (the payments recorded on an order), Customers (customers, their addresses and groups), Store inventory and Store locations (stock levels and locations), Marketing (coupons and promotions) and Information & settings at read-only (the store's information, and the connection's name). Set a scope to modify to write through it — modify on Store inventory to set stock — or to read-only to only read. The other scopes can stay at None.
  4. Click Save. BigCommerce shows the Access token only once: copy it now, with the API path shown beside it. The API path looks like https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/abc123/v3/.

Step 2 — Add the connection in LinkyFlow

  1. In Excel or the web app, open Connections → Add connection.
  2. Choose BigCommerce from the provider list.
  3. Paste the API Path and the Access Token. The API path must be the one BigCommerce shows — https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/<store hash>, followed by the API version (/v3/) or nothing; any other address is refused with the reason.
  4. Save. Unless you typed an alias yourself, the connection is named after your store — from its name when the account has Information & settings, from its store hash otherwise.

When the connection is saved or synced, LinkyFlow checks the token with one cheap read each of your products, orders, customers, inventory locations and store information. If BigCommerce refuses the token, the connection asks you to reconnect with a valid one; if no store answers at the API path, it asks you to copy the path again. A scope the account lacks is shown as not granted while the others keep working; an account with none of them is refused. Replacing the API path with another store's checks the connection again.

Step 3 — Load your first query

  1. Insert a LinkyFlow query and pick the BigCommerce provider.
  2. Choose Products, select your connection in the Link field, and run it — the first 100 products load by default.
  3. Use Per page (up to 250) and the arrows to page through results, or pick All results to read every page.

LinkyFlow keeps the access token server-side: it is never shown again, and never sent to an AI assistant.
