Square connection setup

Square connection setup

This guide walks you through connecting your Square account to LinkyFlow so you can read your locations, catalogue, orders and payments in Excel or in the web app. There is no key to copy, and LinkyFlow only reads.

Requirements

  • A Square account, and its login

Step 1 — Connect with Square

  1. In Excel or the web app, open Connections → Add connection.
  2. Choose Square from the provider list.
  3. Click Connect with Square.
  4. Sign in at Square.
  5. Approve the four read permissions: items, orders, payments and merchant profile. Nothing else is asked: LinkyFlow has no permission to write.

Back in LinkyFlow, the connection is ready. It stays on the Square environment, production or Sandbox, where you approved it. LinkyFlow renews its access by itself: there is nothing to do when a token expires.

Step 2 — Load your first query

  1. Insert a LinkyFlow query and pick the Square provider.
  2. Choose Locations, select your connection in the Link field, and run it. It gives the location IDs that Orders asks for.
  3. Choose Payments or Orders: the first 100 rows load by default. Move on to the next page, or pick All results to read the pages in a row.

Square counts nothing, so no total is shown. A cursor lives 5 minutes: a list paged more slowly than that starts again.

Step 3 — Read an amount

An amount is a whole number in the minor units of its currency, beside that currency: 1250 with EUR is 12.50 EUR, and 1250 with JPY is 1250 JPY.

Ending LinkyFlow's access

In the Square Dashboard, go to Settings → App integrations, then Disconnect App on LinkyFlow: this ends its access, and the connection asks you to reconnect at its next call. Deleting the connection in LinkyFlow forgets its tokens but does not revoke the application at Square.

LinkyFlow keeps the tokens server-side: they are never shown, and never sent to an AI assistant.
